Hyderabad: Public health experts and senior doctors in a webinar titled ‘Reimagining the Healthcare Ecosystem – Covid-19 Learnings’, organised by SLG Hospitals in collaboration with FICCI on Friday stressed the immediate need to establish a sturdy, scalable, agile and healthcare infrastructure.
Forecasting the disease progression is essential for capacity planning, and Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs) and primary level private healthcare mechanism in districts should be scaled up to cater to the three-fold increase in Covid cases by September, Subodh Kandamuthan, Professor and Director, Centre for Health Care Management, ASCI, said.
DVS Somaraju, executive director of SLG Hospitals said coping with Covid-19 has caused seismic shifts in the way care is provided. From the design and construction of facilities, training of healthcare workers, there is a need to deal with Covid challenges and the healthcare ecosystem is steadily adapting to changing needs.
