St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru signed an MoU with CHD Group, India Country Office, Mangaluru on Friday, 6th November 2020. The main objective of the MoU is to promote academic co-operation and exchange of domain knowledge in education and research, publications, technical assistance and jointly carry out research and innovation.
SJEC and CHD Group, through this MoU, aim to develop technology solutions for prevailing pain points in Public Healthcare & upscale strategic co-operation through industry institution interactions. Through its recently activated MedTech Team, SJEC will join hands with CHD Group in identifying solutions that can bring about a change in medical access for rural areas & bridge the aspirational gap to achieve Universal Health Coverage and build affordable healthcare, effective emergency management and disaster risk reduction, cost effective and portable diagnosis and testing services, Etc. The Mou will provide opportunities for students and faculty at SJEC to collaborate with CHD and engage in social innovation projects in the field of healthcare across the Asia Pacific Region, Transatlantic engagement and across African continent over time.
The MoU was signed by Rev. Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Director of SJEC and Dr Edmond Fernandes, Chief Executive Officer, CHD Group. The signed MoU was exchanged on 10th November 2020 at SJEC in the presence of Rev. Fr Rohith D’Costa, Assistant Director of SJEC, Dr Rio D’Souza, Principal of SJEC, Dr Binu K, Associate Professor & Chief Coordinator- Development Projects, Dr Sandhya Das, Associate Professor, Ms Diana Monteiro, Collaborations Officer. Colleagues from CHD Group were also present for the same. Various departments faculty members of the college were also present.
